At BetWright, we are committed to providing our customers with the tools they need to manage their gambling responsibly. One of the key features we offer is the Net Deposit Limit, which allows you to control how much money you can deposit within a set period. This feature is part of our commitment to promoting safe gambling practices and ensuring that your gaming experience remains enjoyable and within your financial means.
What Are Net Deposit Limits?
A Net Deposit Limit is the maximum amount you are allowed to deposit into your BetWright account within a specific time period. This helps you manage your budget by controlling how much you can deposit over time. Importantly, withdrawals are included in the calculation of your Net Deposit Limit, which is why it’s referred to as a "Net" Deposit Limit.
For example, if you make a deposit and then withdraw some or all of that deposit, the amount withdrawn will be subtracted from your total deposits, meaning the available deposit space increases.
Available Time Periods for Net Deposit Limits
You can set your Net Deposit Limit for the following time periods:
1 Day: A limit for a single calendar day.
7 Days: A limit that applies to a rolling 7-day period.
30 Days: A limit that applies to a rolling 30-day period.
These time frames are rolling limits, meaning that your available deposit amount is recalculated in real-time based on your activity within the selected time period. As time passes, older deposits will "expire," freeing up space for additional deposits within your limit.
How to Set Your Net Deposit Limit
You can set and adjust your Net Deposit Limit easily by following these steps:
Log in to your BetWright account.
Navigate to Account Settings.
Select your desired time period for the limit (1 day, 7 days, or 30 days).
Enter the amount you wish to set for your deposit limit and save your changes.
If reducing, your limit will take effect immediately, and you will be able to track how much you've deposited during the set time period.
If increasing your limit will take 24 hours to update.
How Do Rolling Net Deposit Limits Work?
With rolling limits, your available deposit amount changes as time passes. Here's how it works:
As each day goes by, the oldest deposit from your selected time period is removed from the total. This means that the limit continuously updates in real-time, allowing you to deposit more once older deposits have expired.
Because withdrawals are subtracted from your total deposits, they increase the available deposit amount. For example, if you deposit £100 and withdraw £50, your net deposit is £50, and the remaining £50 is available to deposit.
Example: £500 30-Day Net Deposit Limit
Let’s assume you have set a £500 Net Deposit Limit for the next 30 days. Here's how this rolling limit works in practice:
Day 1: You deposit £100.
Available to deposit: £400 (since your £500 limit is now reduced by the £100 you deposited).
30-Day Net Deposit Balance: £100.
Day 2: You deposit £150.
Available to deposit: £250 (since £100 + £150 = £250 total deposits, leaving £250 of your £500 limit).
30-Day Net Deposit Balance: £250.
Day 3: You deposit £200.
Available to deposit: £50 (since £100 + £150 + £200 = £450 total deposits, leaving £50 of your £500 limit).
30-Day Net Deposit Balance: £450.
Day 4: You withdraw £100.
Available to deposit: £150 (since £100 is withdrawn, which is subtracted from the total deposits, freeing up £100).
30-Day Net Deposit Balance: £350
Day 5: You deposit £150.
Available to deposit: £0 (since you have now reached your £500 limit with the deposits).
30-Day Net Deposit Balance: £500.
Day 31: The £100 deposit made on Day 1 expires.
Available to deposit: £100 (since the £100 deposit from Day 1 is now removed).
30-Day Net Deposit Balance: £400.
As you can see, your available deposit amount will change as older deposits expire and withdrawals are subtracted from your total deposits, allowing you more room to deposit in the future.
Operator-Set 30-Day, 90-Day and 365-Day Limits
While you can set your own Net Deposit Limit for 1 day, 7 days, or 30 days, BetWright also applies 30-day, 90-day and 365-day limits internally for responsible gaming protection that may override your own set limits.
These limits are set by the operator and are designed to monitor and control your total deposit activity over longer periods to help prevent overspending.
30-day limit: This setting acts as an absolute maximum limit in a 30 day period for your account.
90-day limit: This internal operator-set limit helps track your deposit activity over a rolling 90-day period, providing a longer-term safety net for responsible gambling.
365-day limit: Similar to the 90-day limit, this longer internal limit helps monitor and control deposits over the span of a full year.
These internal limits cannot be set or adjusted by you directly. They are there to protect your well-being and to ensure that we comply with Social Responsibility Guidelines.
If you believe that you should have higher limits, we may need you to supply us with additional supporting documentation to ensure that we are in compliance with our responsible gambling duty of care.
Why Are These Limits Important?
Setting and managing Net Deposit Limits is an important tool for responsible gambling. By tracking and limiting your deposits, you can:
Stay within your budget: Ensure that your gambling activity is aligned with your financial situation.
Promote responsible gaming: Keep track of your spending to avoid overspending.
Improve your self-awareness: Regularly review your limits to make sure they reflect a comfortable level of spend.
Important Information
If you reach your Net Deposit Limit, you will not be able to make any further deposits until the limit resets based on the time period you have chosen.
If you need to lower your limit, it will take effect immediately.
If you wish to increase your limit, there may be a waiting period of 24 hours to ensure that changes are made responsibly.
The 90-day and 365-day limits are set by BetWright and cannot be overridden by player-set limits. These help us maintain a long-term view of your activity for your protection.
